Our Technique

Neural Organisation Technique (N.O.T.)

The chiropractic adjustment is the technique used by the chiropractor to reduce and correct subluxation. Dr Radermacher uses a form of full body assessment referred to as Neural Organisation Technique (N.O.T.), using nervous system and muscle testing as a guide for diagnosis and patient care.

Based on our assessment results, we select from a variety of healing modalities, which may include:

  • Chiropractic adjustment

  • Acupressure meridian therapy

  • Nutrition supplementation

  • Muscle rehabilitation

Our chiropractic adjustments use gentle touch and very light thrusting. This very specific, low force adjusting method allows your nervous system to better interpret and integrate the sensory input from the adjustment and to appropriately process it throughout the brain and spinal cord. Neural Organisation Technique (N.O.T.) is referred to as a ‘tonal technique’ because its intent is to normalise the natural tone held in the nervous system. Imagine that your nervous system has a volume control. If the volume is too loud it causes distortion, with internal organ complaints, musculoskeletal stresses and diminished immune response. Too weak, and your body doesn’t receive critical messages, showing up as sluggishness, reduced performance and poor muscle support.

After each adjustment, the body is given time to process the change. Correction continues with your body’s movements and breathing. Healing progresses with repeated visits. The primary intent of Neural Organisation Technique (N.O.T.) is to reduce tension in the entire spinal system, release chronic patterns and facilitate reintegration of the nervous system, allowing a greater expression of your health.

Dr Michael Asks some important questions of interest to Adelaide residents - Chiropractor Adelaide Dr Michael Asks...

What's the difference between chiropractic and medicine?
Medical treatment focuses on the disease or the symptom. Chiropractic focuses on the person with the disease or the symptom. Medical treatment usually involves changing blood chemistry. Chiropractic involves restoring nervous system integrity. Medical doctors prescribe medicine. Chiropractors adjust the spine—a common source of nervous system interference.
What's the difference between a "good" drug and a "bad" drug?
As a chiropractor, I see the use of many drugs (legal or illegal) as merely symptom treating. Worse, virtually every drug produces unwanted effects. The effects of chiropractic are largely positive effects. If you're a Adelaide parent, consider carefully before giving your child a cough medication, cold remedy or pain reliever so this sort of question doesn't arise in the first place.
